Our 3-phase model is built with your goals and objectives in mind.
We approach each audience not as a trainer, but as a guide on a journey they’re beginning together. There’s no pop quiz, no definitions or jargon. We’re not telling anyone what to think or believe, but we are asking everyon to think critically, listen openly, and engage honestly.
These 3 phases sound simple, but there’s a lot going on underneath the surface. We’re outcome-oriented, incorporating foundational elements from Motivational Interviewing, a powerful and proven approach to facilitating growth and change.

Phase 1: The Case
We begin by engaging in a way that can only be accomplished through storytelling. Participants are brought into a dynamic legal drama as jurors, and they’re able to lean in without judgement or confrontation.
As the riveting twists and turns unfold, participants are taking in the points of view from both sides of the case, and examining their own preconceived notions. How they begin to individually fill in the gaps leads into how their role as juror plays out.

Phase 2: The Deliberation
In the Deliberation, we focus participants toward a common goal—finding a verdict. A working alliance is formed that allows for respectful sharing of observations and perspectives surrounding these difficult topics. It becomes clear that not everyone agrees, yet the discussion remains both respectful and productive. The empowering role of juror, for many, becomes transformative.
Phase 3: The Discussion
Once the jury reaches a verdict, the fictional world recedes as we move into a discussion that focuses back on the real world. We examine how we’ve worked together so far in this journey and the insights we can gain from it. Participants are asked to consider questions like what usually makes this so difficult? How can I better engage with others outside of an experience like this? What am I bringing back to my role here? What are my action steps for the change I want to see?
We know based on years of feedback that these conversations continue long after we’re gone—often for days, weeks, and months—allowing you to build on the momentum we generate.
How we bring this all to you:
2 Compelling Stories: Choose an exclusive screening of Defamation, our timeless courtroom drama now running for 14 years, or Just Cause, set and released in 2021 with today’s realities at the heart of the story.
Flexible Approach: We’re not a one-size-fits-all block of time. Ask how we can customize our production to align with your audience’s availability or fit into an agenda you’re planning for a training, orientation, or retreat.
One-Time Event: An all-encompassing event with all 3 phases of the experience presented together.
FLEX Event: Attendees will be able to view the film up to 48 hours leading up to a scheduled deliberation and discussion.
Custom Program: We’re happy to work with your scheduling and programming needs to customize our online programming for your organization.
Follow-Up Discussion (Optional): Invite your attendees back to rejoin our expert facilitator and continue the conversation after they’ve had time to think and process.
High-Touch or High-Tech: From events on-location with our in-person facilitator to fully virtual events connecting people across the world (and everything in-between), we’re ready to meet you and your audience where you are.
Have one of our expert facilitators join your audience in-person to guide your audience through all 3 phases of the program. Following a digital presentation of the film, our facilitator will lead live voting and deliberation with our virtual judge, plus a discussion tailored for your organization.
Deliver our virtual program to your live audience — ideal for audiences in a single location or in several rooms/venues simultaneously as an optimized hybrid experience.
Bring your audience together from wherever they’re located, offering everyone a front-row seat in a 100% virtual experience — ideal for remote learning and remote working environments.
Ideal for orientation programming, summit/keynote presentations, professional development, focused diversity events & initiatives, continuing legal education (CLE), and general campus- and office-wide events.
Half-Day Workshop
4 – 5 Hours, Customizable
Our unique program is tailored specifically based on your audience, your desired engagement styles, and your objectives, in a convenient half-day workshop format.
Our workshops and immersions have a similar foundation, but in a half-day format we’re able to go deeper. Our facilitator and judge both travel to your location to lead the workshop together.
Engaged team members feel valuable and included. Before we begin with the case, participants are given a custom workbook to guide their experience. Throughout the workshop, there is a combination of individual reflection, small-group conversation, and full-audience discussion.

The Case
Just as we’ve always done in our original 2-hour programs, we invite participants to serve as members of a jury in a riveting legal drama. We use the power of theater and storytelling to bring your team into a world where contentious issues are woven into the case, yet they’re willing to genuinely and actively listen to understand the truth.

The Deliberation
The case ends with the judge instructing jurors with what they need to consider to reach a verdict. There is no “smoking gun” in the evidence leading to an easy decision—the jury must work together to decide the outcome.
Our judge takes participants point-by-point through the elements of the case and the issues surrounding them, leading them as they work together toward a common goal of finding a verdict. This phase of the workshop allows us to have participants consider not just what they believe the truth to be, but also to examine how they arrive at their decision.
Participants begin to see that we’re not just putting the defendant on trial, but our own objectivity. The way participants lean in during the Deliberation prepares them to fully engage in the Discussion in a meaningful, authentic way.
The Discussion
Our expert facilitator brings the collaboration and engagement forward as they guide particpants through a custom-built discussion. We use techniques from Motivational Interviewing to help participants both as individuals and as a group to uncover and apply insights from the experience to their role and your shared objectives.
By the end, participants are able to identify their own action items toward the goals and objectives you’ve set for the workshop.
These conversations continue to resonate in the days, weeks, and months ahead, reinforcing foundational relationships for a stronger team environment.
