“The Defamation Experience was a very high quality program for our students and campus. The performance and subject material was topical, layered, and thought provoking. It would be impossible to view and take part in this programming without thinking about your own bias, privilege, and the subtle ways in which we unknowingly act at times contrary to our own values without even consciously being aware of it.”

“My campus experienced one of the greatest transformative events I’ve witness in my time of UWW. This play evoked the participant to dig deep into their own biases while trying to remain objective. The most poignant portion was the interaction and reactions from our students. They were able to navigate and articulate nuances from the play that made the entire audience pause.”

“Students and community members were compelled to grapple with both emotional and rational responses – learning about self and others in the dialogue. The conversation continued in the classroom and on social media. We return to the themes of the play as they ripple through our thoughts and our lives.”
